Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012) English Subtitle - Comedy, Romance and Hit Songs

Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK) is a 2012 Tamil-language romantic comedy that marked the acting debut of producer Udhayanidhi Stalin. Directed by M. Rajesh, the film also stars Santhanam and Hansika Motwani in lead roles, with a strong supporting cast, including Saranya Ponvannan and Azhagam Perumal. The film was produced under Red Giant Movies and featured music by Harris Jayaraj.

The story follows Saravanan (Udhayanidhi Stalin), a carefree youngster who falls in love with Meera (Hansika Motwani), an air hostess trainee. Despite several obstacles—including Meera’s strict father, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (Sayaji Shinde)—Saravanan persistently pursues her. Adding to the humor is his hilarious best friend Partha (Santhanam), whose comic timing steals the show. As Saravanan tries to win Meera’s heart, his friendship with Partha is tested, leading to an emotional yet lighthearted climax.

The film was a massive success, running for 175 days in theaters and grossing approximately ₹43 crore against a budget of ₹13 crore. It was later released in Telugu as OK OK. Critics praised its comedy, Santhanam’s performance, and catchy music, making it one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2012. The film's soundtrack, composed by Harris Jayaraj, became extremely popular, with songs like "Kadhal Oru" and "Azhage Azhage" being fan favorites.

Despite its predictable storyline, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi succeeded due to Rajesh’s humorous screenplay, witty dialogues, and an engaging narrative. Santhanam’s comedic brilliance elevated the film, making it a favorite among Tamil cinema lovers.

If you're a fan of feel-good romantic comedies with a dose of laughter, OKOK is definitely a must-watch!
