Bromance (2025) English Subtitle - Comedy, Twists and Brotherhood
“Bromance” is a refreshing adventure comedy that delivers laughter, emotion, and twists in equal measure. Directed by Arun D. Jose and written in collaboration with Raveesh Nath and Thomas P. Sebastian, this Malayalam-language film takes the charm of friendship and mixes it with adventure and drama to create something truly engaging.
The story follows Binto Varghese (played by Mathew Thomas), a spirited young man who sets off on a wild journey to find his missing brother, Shinto. With Shinto’s old gang — including Shabeer (Arjun Ashokan), Hariharasudhan (Sangeeth Prathap), and a few quirky misfits — Binto dives deep into a series of unexpected turns, gangsters, tech hacks, and emotional revelations.
What stood out most to me was the movie’s ability to balance comedy and emotion without losing pace. Each character brings a unique flavor to the plot — from Mahima Nambiar’s grounded and graceful Dr. Aishwarya to Kalabhavan Shajohn’s hilarious yet heartwarming role as a kind gangster named Courier Babu. The casting is spot-on, with standout performances that feel both organic and memorable.
The film is beautifully shot by Akhil George, capturing the lush landscapes and chaotic cityscapes with flair. The editing by Chaman Chakko keeps the rhythm tight, while Govind Vasantha’s music score elevates the emotional beats and the adventure vibe.
“Bromance” doesn't just rely on slapstick; it’s filled with clever writing, strong character arcs, and several genuine laugh-out-loud moments. Yet, it also touches on themes of brotherhood, loyalty, and emotional closure. The chemistry between Mathew Thomas and Arjun Ashokan is especially compelling, making their scenes some of the most enjoyable in the film.
Clocking in at 150 minutes, the runtime feels justified thanks to the dynamic script and engaging screenplay. With ₹13.5 crore at the box office and widespread praise from both critics and audiences, it’s safe to say this one’s a hit.
Overall, “Bromance” is the kind of film that leaves me smiling. It’s a feel-good entertainer that reminds me how powerful bonds — whether of friendship or family — can drive great stories.
