Crazxy (2025) English Subtitle - Sohum Shah's Crazxy Is a Bold Leap into Psychological Tension

Girish Kohli makes a bold and captivating directorial debut with Crazxy (2025), a Hindi-language psychological thriller that leans heavily on atmosphere, urgency, and emotion. Featuring Sohum Shah in a solitary on-screen performance, the film tells the gripping story of a father, Dr. Abhimanyu Sood, who races against time to rescue his kidnapped daughter in a nerve-wracking 93-minute narrative.

Released on 28 February 2025 and produced under Sohum Shah Films, Crazxy is an immersive one-man thriller where tension is masterfully built through voiceovers, sound design, and a haunting score by Jesper Kyd. Abhimanyu, a skilled surgeon, is thrown into a psychological maze of guilt, desperation, and cryptic calls as he tries to outwit a kidnapper and face demons from his own past.

The film stands out for its minimalist storytelling — Shah carries the entire film, portraying a spectrum of emotions with a subtle yet powerful performance. The supporting cast exists only as voices: Tinnu Anand as the cryptic Gurudutt Prasad, Nimisha Sajayan as Bobby (Abhimanyu’s ex-wife), Shilpa Shukla as Jaan (his girlfriend), and Piyush Mishra as the mysterious “White Coat”/Dr. Nihal Chatterjee, each adding depth to Abhimanyu’s fractured world.

Cinematographers Sunil Borkar and Kuldeep Mamania use confined spaces and shifting light to create visual anxiety, capturing the protagonist’s claustrophobic mental state. The film’s editing by Sanyukta Kaza and Rythem Lath is tight and frantic, mirroring the ticking-clock nature of the plot.

Adding to its uniqueness is the film’s diverse soundtrack. With music contributions from Vishal Bhardwaj, Laxmikant–Pyarelal, Manan Bhardwaj, and others, Crazxy weaves a musical backdrop that blends retro, modern, and experimental styles.

Despite a modest budget of ₹8.4 crore, the film has already crossed ₹15 crore at the box office, resonating with audiences and critics alike. With its intense performance, slick production, and heart-pounding plot, Crazxy redefines the solo-performance thriller in Indian cinema.
