Robinhood (2025) English Subtitle - A Telugu Action Comedy That Fails to Rob Our Hearts

"Robinhood (2025)" is a Telugu-language heist action-comedy that attempts to blend slick visuals with mass entertainment. Directed by Venky Kudumula, the film stars Nithiin as Ram, a modern-day Robin Hood whose moral compass shifts when he takes up the role of an accidental bodyguard. Alongside him, Sreeleela plays Neera Vasudev, adding glamour and emotional weight.

While the movie starts with promise — backed by a high-energy soundtrack from G. V. Prakash Kumar and rich cinematography from Sai Sriram — it soon loses its direction. The screenplay struggles to balance comedy with thrills, and the emotional stakes feel undercooked. Despite being promoted as a festive entertainer, the film released late and failed to meet expectations both critically and commercially.

Performances are a mixed bag. Nithiin delivers his usual charm, but the writing doesn’t offer enough depth. Sreeleela brings energy to her scenes, and comic relief by Vennela Kishore is serviceable. Interestingly, Australian cricketer David Warner makes a cameo as the antagonist David Bhai, which garners attention but adds little impact.

The film’s three-song album stands out, especially “Adhi Dha Surprisu,” featuring Ketika Sharma in an eye-catching item number. However, strong music can’t salvage a weak plot.

In essence, Robinhood tries to reinvent the vigilante trope in a fun format, but inconsistent writing and tonal confusion hold it back. It's a visual treat in parts, but ultimately lacks the punch required for a memorable heist flick.
