Tehran (2025) English Subtitle - Action, Politics & Spy Thriller! 🔥
I just finished watching Tehran (2025) on ZEE5, and wow… this Hindi-language action thriller kept me hooked from start to finish! 🎬 Directed by Arun Gopalan and starring John Abraham, Neeru Bajwa, and Manushi Chhillar, the film dives into the tense real-life backdrop of the 2012 Israeli diplomat attacks. 🕵️♂️
From the opening scene, the atmosphere is electric ⚡. John Abraham shines as ACP Rajeev Kumar, a man torn between duty and the harsh realities of geopolitics. His chemistry with Neeru Bajwa and Manushi Chhillar adds depth to the otherwise action-heavy plot. Neeru delivers a solid performance as Sheilaja, while Manushi impresses in her role as SI Divya Rana, even though her screen time feels a bit short. 🎯
Story & Direction 🎥
The screenplay by Ritesh Shah, Ashish P. Verma, and Bindni Karia blends action, emotion, and suspense with surprising sensitivity. I loved how it wasn’t just explosions and chases — it also focused on the human cost of conflict. The pacing, however, leans towards a slow burn 🔥, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I personally found it immersive.
Cinematography & Locations 🌍
Shot across Tehran, Glasgow, Mumbai, and Delhi, the film is visually stunning. Cinematographers Ievgen Gubrebko and Andre Menezes capture everything from gritty streets to grand cityscapes with precision. The production design and costume detailing make the setting feel authentic.
Action & Music 💥🎶
John’s action sequences are a treat — choreographed with intensity and realism. The background score by Ketan Sodha is haunting, while Tanishk Bagchi’s soundtrack adds an emotional touch. The single “Ishq Bukhaar” 🎵 sung by Shreya Ghoshal and B Praak is an instant earworm.
Verdict 🏆
Tehran is more than just another action thriller — it’s a politically charged story that makes you think. If you enjoy films like Madras Cafe or Raazi, this one’s right up your alley. It’s not perfect — a few characters deserved more depth, and the pacing may feel slow to adrenaline junkies — but it’s still a gripping watch.
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
A tense, thought-provoking ride with John Abraham in top form. Don’t miss it on ZEE5!
