🎭 Akshardham Operation Vajra Shakti (2025) English Subtitle – A Tribute to NSG Bravery Amidst Chaos 🇮🇳🔥
🎬 State of Siege: Temple Attack is a Hindi-language action thriller directed by Ken Ghosh, starring Akshaye Khanna in a powerful comeback role as Major Hanut Singh. Released directly on ZEE5 on 9 July 2021, the film is a standalone sequel to State of Siege: 26/11 and is loosely inspired by the 2002 Akshardham Temple attack in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
With patriotism, suspense, and edge-of-the-seat action, the film highlights the sacrifice and courage of NSG commandos who risk their lives to protect civilians from terror.
🍲 Plot – Duty, Sacrifice & Terror Unleashed
Major Hanut Singh (Akshaye Khanna) is haunted by a past mission where his insubordination saved lives but cost him his best friend. Years later, when terrorists led by Abu Hamza storm a temple in Gujarat and demand the release of their leader Bilal Naikoo, Hanut must once again step into action 🚨.
The terrorists wreak havoc, holding civilians hostage inside the temple ⛪, while the NSG commandos face pressure from both the terrorists and their own seniors. Hanut, battling his inner scars, must lead his team through crossfire, strategy, and sacrifices to end the bloodshed.
💥 Performances & Impact
Akshaye Khanna is the soul of the film, delivering intensity and gravitas as Major Hanut Singh 🎖️.
Gautam Rode, Vivek Dahiya, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhilash Chaudhary add solid support as fellow commandos.
Abhimanyu Singh and Mir Sarwar bring menace as Abu Hamza and Bilal Naikoo.
The film’s action choreography is gripping, while Tejal Shetye’s cinematography and Mukesh Thakur’s editing enhance the tension of the hostage crisis.
🎶 Music & Technicals
Background score by Kartik Shah pumps adrenaline during high-octane sequences, while the production by Contiloe Pictures ensures a realistic war-room-meets-battlefield vibe.
🔥 Reception – Mixed but Powerful
- Positive reviews (TOI ⭐3.5/5, Indian Express) praised the action and tribute to NSG heroes.
- Mixed/negative reviews (NDTV ⭐2/5, Hindustan Times, Firstpost) criticized its weak script, half-baked characters, and over-dramatization of a sensitive tragedy.
- Despite criticism, Akshaye Khanna’s performance was unanimously lauded 👏.
⭐ Verdict: State of Siege: Temple Attack may falter in storytelling, but as a patriotic thriller and tribute to NSG soldiers, it succeeds in evoking respect and goosebumps. Watch it for Akshaye Khanna’s stellar performance and its action-packed sequences 🇮🇳🔥.
