The story of Da Thadiya (2012) revolves around young and obese Luke John Prakash and his closest friend and cousin, video jockey Sunny Josh Prakash. Luke was born into a wealthy family and his grandfather was once the mayor of Kochi and the leader of a well-known political party.

After his grandfather's death, those political parties were ruled by Luke's father and uncle, and under their leadership, the party often lost elections. Luke fell in love with an obese girl named Ann Mary Thadikkaran, the daughter of two parents who worked for an insurance company when she was a child.

Eventually one day Ann Mary's parents move to Ernakulam so Anne Mary leaves with her parents to live in Ernakulam. Years later, one day, Ann Mary returns to Luke's home to meet Luke, and surprisingly Luke finds out that she's obese and that she is a skinny, beautiful girl.

The next day Ann Mary and Luke leave for dinner at a restaurant where Luke realizes that Anne dislikes his fat body. Later, at Anne's urging and persuasion, Luke visits Rahul Vaidyar's clinic, which runs an ayurvedic massage center, to seek weight loss treatment.

Later, on Christmas day, Luke runs away from the company, expresses his love for Anne Mary, and asks her to marry him. Here Anne Mary rejects the marriage proposal and insults Luke in front of Rahul Wider and realizes that Anne is an agent appointed to recruit people to this Ayurvedic center and that she does not love him and cheated on Luke.

Luke finally realizes that a large group of people, including Rahul Wider and Anne, are running a money-laundering racket here under the guise of an Ayurvedic center. Luke and Sonny then reunite and eventually reorganize their grandfather's political party to victory, with Luke re-establishing his family's political power in Kochi, exposing the scams perpetrated by Rahul Wider and his associates. A plan is being launched to arrest and punish them.
