Sandakozhi 2 Review As the sequel of the first film unfolds, Balu returns to Theni district after a long hiatus in the USA. However, his arrival isn't just about a happy reunion with his family. Instead, he learns about his peculiar relative, Pechankarasi or "Pechi," and the gruesome events surrounding her life. Pechi's husband was killed by the villagers for killing a person of lower caste. In retaliation, Pechi takes it upon herself to kill all the male members of the lower-caste person's family, except for Anbu, who Balu's father Durai protects. Balu soon discovers that Pechi's intentions are to disrupt the temple festival and kill Anbu, and he must take it upon himself to protect him.

During the temple festival, Balu secretly comes to Anbu's aid and fights off the attackers without anyone noticing. However, amidst all this chaos, Balu meets Sembaruthi, who reminds him of his lost love, Hema. Sembaruthi soon learns that Balu left for the USA because of Hema's untimely death during their trip to Tirupathi for their marriage. Despite his tragic past, Balu falls for Sembaruthi, and Durai accepts their relationship.

In a turn of events, Anbu's UPSC attempt to become an IAS officer is successful, and Durai and Anbu leave for the latter's village to convey the result. However, Pechi's men attack Anbu, and in a scuffle, Durai gets accidentally stabbed. Balu rushes in to save Durai, who receives clandestine treatment in his home. Durai then implores Balu not to inform the villagers of the incident, as it could lead to communal riots and ruin the temple festival. Balu promises Durai that he will save Anbu and ensure that the festival ends smoothly.

Finally, Pechi and Balu meet in an open ground, where Pechi beats up Balu. Balu, however, does not want to hurt Pechi and asks her to leave Anbu alone, but she refuses. As Pechi is about to kill Anbu with a sickle, her chain gets stuck in a Trishula, and she loses control. Her weapon moves towards her son's neck, but Balu intervenes, holding the weapon and saving the child. Pechi realizes her mistake and decides to spare Anbu.
