The Story of "Majili" revolves around the complex life of Poorna Chandar Rao, a passionate cricket player, and his tumultuous love story with Anshu, the woman of his dreams. Poorna, who is resolute in his goal of playing for the Indian cricket team, aims to secure a spot in the local railway team first. However, his aspirations are challenged when he encounters Anshu, and their relationship is fraught with misunderstandings.

Despite the challenges, Poorna and Anshu's love deepens, and they become inseparable. However, their romantic bliss is short-lived as they are separated due to the unfortunate circumstances that befall them. Anshu promises to return, but she never does, leaving Poorna heartbroken and shattered.

Poorna's life takes a downward spiral, and he turns to alcohol to numb his pain, leading him to neglect his cricket career. In the meantime, Sravani, who secretly harbours feelings for Poorna, marries him, hoping to help him overcome his grief.

Poorna, who is still haunted by his memories with Anshu, remains distant from Sravani, pushing her away. Despite her attempts to bring him back to life, Poorna remains adamant in his misery. Sravani, who works at the local railway station, is the sole breadwinner of the family, while Poorna remains unemployed, living off her income.

However, fate intervenes, and Poorna meets Meera, Anshu's daughter, while in Dehradun, selecting players for the youth cricket team. He learns of Anshu's untimely death, and her father requests him to take Meera with him to Vizag for cricket training. Meera, who is unaware of her mother's past, insists on playing for the local railway team, for which at least one of her parents should be an employee. Poorna and Sravani adopt Meera so that she can fulfill her dream, but on the condition that they act like a husband and wife.

As Poorna spends time with Meera, he slowly comes to terms with his past and realizes Sravani's love for him. However, Sravani, who thinks that Poorna is merely acting to save their relationship, decides to leave for Bhubaneswar. Poorna decides to confess his love for Sravani and follows her to the railway station. After an emotional moment, they reconcile, finally achieving Majili, their destination towards love.
