Thozhar CheGuevara (2024) is a Tamil-language action-drama film directed and written by Alex A.D., featuring veteran actor Sathyaraj in the titular role of Cheguevara. The movie presents an intense narrative filled with action, drama, and political undertones, with a supporting cast including Motta Rajendran, Neel Anand, Cool Suresh, and Nanjil Sampath. Produced by Grey Magic Creations, the film marks Alex A.D.’s ambitious attempt at storytelling.

The plot centers around Cheguevara, portrayed by Sathyaraj, who leads a group of revolutionaries fighting against corruption and societal injustices. The characters are skillfully brought to life by an ensemble cast, with Motta Rajendran delivering an engaging performance as Doctor Naveen and Neel Anand shining as Aryan. Cool Suresh and Alex A.D. himself add depth to the storyline with their unique portrayals.

The cinematography by Sam adds vibrancy to the film’s action sequences and dramatic moments, while Ashwin PS’s music complements the story’s emotional and action-packed beats. However, despite its engaging premise and stellar cast, Thozhar CheGuevara received mixed critical reception. Harshini BV of The Times of India gave the film 1.5 stars, noting that while the story is heart-rending, it lacks the focus and clarity necessary for a compelling narrative.

Initially slated for a March release, the film hit theatres on 20 September 2024. While it may not meet all expectations, fans of Sathyaraj and Tamil action-dramas may still find this revolutionary tale intriguing.
