Good Bad Ugly (2025) English Subtitle - Stylish Mass with Mixed Results

Good Bad Ugly (GBU) is a fiery, adrenaline-fueled Tamil action-comedy that marks Ajith Kumar’s 63rd film and a landmark entry for Mythri Movie Makers in Tamil cinema. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, this movie blends nostalgic mass moments, international-style action, and emotional family drama, all wrapped in a stylized narrative.

Ajith plays AK, a reformed gangster forced back into the underworld when his son is framed. The actor is in fine form, effortlessly carrying the film with charisma and physical presence. Trisha Krishnan adds emotional weight as Ramya, while Arjun Das impresses in a dual role that fuels the conflict. G. V. Prakash Kumar’s music amplifies the tension, with songs like “OG Sambavam” and “AK the Tiger” setting the tone.

The plot spans from Mumbai to Spain, and even includes wild crossovers involving Korean gangsters, John Wick, and the Money Heist gang—yes, it gets that crazy. Adhik Ravichandran clearly aimed for a larger-than-life universe, and for the most part, it works. However, the film does falter in pacing and coherence. The second half, despite its action-packed sequences and emotional beats, struggles with balancing nostalgia and fresh storytelling.

Cinematographer Abinandhan Ramanujam delivers slick visuals, especially during the Spain schedule, while Vijay Velukutty’s editing keeps things brisk, though the 139-minute runtime feels a tad stretched.

Good Bad Ugly isn’t flawless, but it’s a mass entertainer that caters to Ajith fans. From fan-service dialogues to brutal fight scenes and emotional father-son moments, the film aims for impact and mostly delivers. Despite mixed reviews, the box office numbers show that Ajith’s star power remains unmatched in 2025.
