"Sikandar" reunites Salman Khan with producer Sajid Nadiadwala under the direction of A. R. Murugadoss in a ₹200 crore action drama that’s high on spectacle but low on narrative finesse. Salman plays Sanjay "Sikandar" Rajkot, a complex character with shades of vigilante heroism, who tries to redeem his wife’s tragic death by protecting three organ recipients in Mumbai.

Despite a compelling premise, the film’s overstuffed plot and lackluster writing dilute its emotional impact. Rashmika Mandanna as Saisri brings sincerity, while Kajal Aggarwal and Sathyaraj are underused in critical roles. The editing by Vivek Harshan tries to salvage coherence but struggles to contain the screenplay’s chaos. Tirru’s cinematography and Santhosh Narayanan’s background score provide aesthetic polish, yet the film falters in execution.

Released on 30 March 2025, coinciding with Eid, "Sikandar" opened with strong expectations but disappointed both critics and audiences, grossing only ₹177 crore against a massive budget. Despite a few touching moments, the film ultimately falls into predictable tropes, making it a misfire for Khan and Murugadoss.
